Our volunteers, with the support of Tamil Association of Western Australia, offer the Parai traditional drumming lessons at our school on alternate Sundays to the Silambam martial art classes.

Parai means “to speak or to communicate”. It is one of the earliest percussion instruments dating back to prehistoric times. Tholkaapiam, written before the Christian era, mentions Parai as a standard musical instrument for many occasions.
